A small team by design. Real work from week one.

MetaLaw Chambers is a litigation practice led by Shrishail Navalgund. We appear across all levels of court — the Karnataka High Court, Commercial Courts, City Civil Courts, Magistrate Courts, NCLT, DRT, and every other forum where our clients' matters take us.

Every person who joins us carries real responsibility from their first week. Not because we are understaffed — but because we believe that a lawyer grows fastest when the work is genuinely theirs. You will draft, appear, research, and advise. You will not spend your first year managing files.

Not perks. A practice that takes your growth seriously.

01
Court appearances from week one
You will be on the vakalatnama. Not watching. Not carrying files. Appearing — with preparation, feedback, and support.
02
Direct mentorship
Every draft is returned with comments. Every court appearance is reviewed. Mentorship from Shrishail Navalgund on arguments, drafting, and case strategy.
03
Equal starting point
Every lawyer begins at the same compensation, regardless of which college they attended. We evaluate what you produce here, not where you came from.
04
Multi-forum exposure
Magistrate to High Court, civil to corporate — you work across all fora, not siloed into one. Breadth of exposure early in your career builds a serious practice.
05
A culture of craft
We care about how things are written, argued, and reasoned. If you care about the quality of your work, you will find people here who care about it too.
06
Defined progression
There is a clear path. From associate to senior associate to independent practice. We have no interest in keeping you as a perpetual junior.
Roles

What each role looks like

We hire for five types of roles. Read each to understand what the work actually involves — and what we are and are not looking for.

What you will do
  • Court appearances across all fora — KHC, Commercial, City Civil, Magistrate, NCLT, DRT
  • Draft pleadings, written arguments, and research memos
  • Attend client briefings and maintain matter progress
  • Assist in case strategy across civil, criminal, and corporate matters
  • Independently manage assigned matters over time
What we look for
  • Enrolled advocate (or enrolment underway)
  • Strong written English — clear, precise, persuasive
  • Willingness to appear in court from early on
  • Attention to case strategy, not just assigned tasks
  • Intellectual honesty about what you know and don't know
What we are not looking for
  • Someone who wants only desk research
  • Someone treating this as a two-year stepping stone to corporate
  • Someone who confuses credentials with competence
  • Someone looking for easy work and early exits
