What you can expect

An internship built around actual work

From your first week, you will work on live matters under direct supervision. You will not be filing papers or summarising newspaper articles. Every task you are given is something a lawyer at this chambers would otherwise do.

Live legal research
Research questions arising from pending matters — not hypotheticals. Your output goes into the actual case file.
Drafting under supervision
Draft portions of pleadings, memos, and notes. Every draft is returned with comments and corrections.
Court observation
Attend hearings and come back with notes. You will understand what moves a judge — not just what textbooks say.
Direct mentorship
Shrishail Navalgund will directly review your work and give you feedback. You will know exactly where you stand.
Internship tracks

Two types of internship

Choose the track that fits where you are in your studies. Both involve real work — the scope and duration differ.

Law student intern
General Internship
Any year · 1 month minimum · Bengaluru
  • Legal research on live matters
  • Drafting — memos, summaries, portions of pleadings
  • Court observation and briefing notes
  • Case file review and argument mapping
What we look for: Genuine interest in litigation. Writing ability matters more than CGPA. Minimum one month — longer is better.
Assessment track
Assessment Internship
Final year or recently passed · 3 months · Conversion possibility
  • Assigned matters with progressively more independence
  • Drafting and research at near-associate level
  • Structured fortnightly feedback sessions
  • Exposure across civil, criminal, and corporate matters
Conversion: At the end of three months, we assess whether to offer a full associate position. This track is a serious evaluation — treat it as one.
Who should apply

What matters to us — and what doesn't

We look for
  • Genuine interest in litigation — not just a certificate
  • Someone who has read a judgement for pleasure, not exam prep
  • Writing ability: clear, structured, precise
  • Curiosity about how a case is argued, not just researched
  • Willingness to accept feedback and revise
  • Any year of law school — third year to fifth year equally welcome
We are not looking for
  • Someone who wants a certificate without real work
  • Someone who will not show up to court because it is inconvenient
  • Someone expecting to observe from a distance for a month
  • Someone whose only question is about the stipend
  • Macro-writers — vague, general, padded answers

  2. We review within 7 days. If we want to proceed, we reach out directly.
  3. A short call — 15 minutes. We ask about your interest; you ask us anything.
  4. Dates confirmed and internship begins on the agreed start date.
  5. At the end: a written feedback note on your work and, where earned, a certificate.
